Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing to express my interest in an internship opportunity with Anderson Environmental. I am currently in my third year of studying environmental engineering at the University of Technology, Sydney, and I am eager to apply my academic knowledge and hands-on experience in a consultancy that works on flora and fauna assessments, species impact statements, and mine site remediation.

My studies have given me a strong foundation in environmental systems through subjects such as hydrology, pollution control and waste management, and environmental engineering. One of my most meaningful academic projects was a group assessment of riverbank erosion in the Yirrganydji community in Far North Queensland, where we examined the environmental and cultural impacts and proposed sustainable erosion control strategies.

Alongside my studies, I have developed strong technical skills in AutoCAD, Excel, and Microsoft Word, and I hold a current First Aid certification. These have prepared me for both office-based tasks and fieldwork. Additionally, I have contributed to community events such as the Orange Blossom Festival, where I developed logistical and teamwork skills that are highly valuable in the field and project coordination settings.

I have worked as a disability support worker for over three years, which has taught me how to communicate effectively, adapt in real time, and build trust with people from diverse backgrounds. I believe these skills will transfer well to working with stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams in an environmental consultancy environment.
